Podaewhasarng('Sack' priest)'s Song
Podaewhasarng was a Chinese eccentric zen master. He usually carried a sack filled with dog bones. He strolled with it from town to town, shouting, "Dog bones on sale, dog bones on sale..." In fact, dog bones were not worth anything at all. Therefore, he was treated as crazy by people. However, his act was deliberate to enlighten the people who were stuck to form. He sang a song as follows.
Every night, you fall asleep caressing Buddha,
and every morning, you get up together with Buddha, again.
Standing or sitting, you follow each other closely.
Speaking or keeping silent, you go and pause together.
You don't leave each other in the slightest,
which look like your body and shadow.
If you desire to know where Buddha stays,
it's just the thing of your speaking sound.
