A Calf

When master Gobong was young, he once stayed in master Hyewal's temple. Hyewal was absorbed in reclamation of a wilderness to make paddy-fields by mobilizing his student monks. He neglected the food for the monks and only pushed them. When he was out, Gobong and a few monks took his ox out and sold it in the market. After drinking to the full with the money for the ox, they came back and told a monk to arrange good food for the rest of monks, giving the rest of money to him. A few days later when Hyewal came back, he noticed the absence of his ox and shouted, "Who took my ox ? Fetch it right away." Everyone was trembling with fear and kept quiet. Thereupon, Gobong took off all his clothes and got in his room. He crawled about on all fours saying, "Moo, Moo,..."

Hyewal hit Gobong's ass with his hand and said, "My ox is not a calf like this. Get out of my room." Since then, they stayed without words.
